The Shire of Mundaring has had the pleasure of having Merry Robertson present workshops on Volunteer Management.
Merry delivers useable and practical information while providing the tools needed to kick start innovation and creativity in the most "workshop weary" participant.
Her entertaining and energetic speaking style that uses her wealth of experience in the sporting and volunteering sectors combines funny stories, simple examples, and easy-to-implement ideas in a way that encourages audience participation as well as inspires and motivates.
Merry constantly rates 5 out 5 in our evaluation forms and is our most requested presenter. I would recommend Merry and Jump Marketing and Business Solutions for any organisation that requires a professional and informative speaker.

"Merry Robertson's advice, guidance and flair were of invaluable assistance to us in the Property Management Marketing presentation that she facilitated in April 2005. All participants agreed that it was one of the best sessions they have ever attended!"

Thanks for you time and enthusiasm at our Account Manager Workshop with your session on Professionalism. It was a well presented, well prepared training session which met our needs and achieved our outcomes (broad as they were!). Feedback from all participants was very positive and many are building on the outcomes to further their skills.
Thank you again and I wouldn't hesitate to use your organisation again when we are looking at conducting future training for our staff.
Kind regards
Joanne Eagle
Operations Coordinator, Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Merry was given the (unenviable) task of developing the Communication and People Skills of a team of 18 volunteer Referee's of our association - the team having a very varied dynamic ~ the confident, the not so sure, the undermined, the know it all .... all with a common goal of refereeing Masters Swimming requiring rule knowledge, confidence, fairness and quick decision making, whilst being part of a team! I felt there would be a few not want to participate ... I was wrong! Thanks to Merry's presenting skills!
After a five minute role play (tears and all!) , of a scenario close to situations experienced by referees, followed by a sharing of situations, thoughts, feelings and how to deal with them.... Merry soon had everyone engrossed and participating ~ waiting for the next challenge!
Feedback to me as organiser of the professional development day included....
"Fabulous, really didn't want to participate, but wow!" "A great session." "Has given me a fresh outlook and confidence to make decisions and DQ!?" "Golly, that wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be." "I really enjoyed the session and was crying with Merry." "Presenting communication, no, acting! - tremendous!" "Learnt I can add acting and humour in communicating, not be so stern"...
Very worthwhile session, Thank you Merry

Thanks for your professional and entertaining presentation on Dealing with Conflict at our recent combined Officials/coaches Breakfast at Subiaco Oval. You certainly grabbed the interest of the 230 strong group and feedback shows that the participants got plenty of useful information that they believe they can use in all facets of their life. I'll be calling on your services again.

Dear Merry,
Your presentation on Public Speaking to our elite squads was just what we wanted. The girls gave positive feedback regarding a boost in their confidence when meeting people for the first time, entering a room and feeling at ease, speaking with confidence when accepting a prize, etc. The questionnaire aimed at looking at themselves and exploring their own misgivings so that they could work on these areas seemed to interest most of them. They felt this would help in their everyday lives as well as when they enter the more competitive world of their sport. The section dealing with dress and comportment was also well received, with discussion taking place well after the session ended.
Your method of presenting the session I felt was welcoming as it invited the girls to participate. Your language style was appropriate for the age of the audience and moving around and staying close to your audience as you spoke made it more relaxing and easier to interact with you.
We look forward to working with you in the future as newer squad members come on to the scene.
Regards,

Merry visited Albany to speak to current and potential female coaches about Assertive Communication and Time Management. Merry captured the attention of the audience brilliantly and used a combination of activities, exercises and information to get her messages across. The feedback we received from all participants was excellent and we hope to have recruited some new female coaches as a result of the workshop.
Thanks again Merry - I look forward to keeping in touch with you.
Cheers

Balancing work, family and social lives leaves members of local environmental groups with little time to spend on attracting people to their tree planting days and other events. It is also hard to attract members of the community who have so many other things competing for their spare time. Merry was invited to speak to a group of community members to pass on some tips on How to Promote their environmental and "Friends of" groups. The participants left the workshop armed with a strategy for promoting their group and feeling inspired to Engage with the Media -
Michelle Walker
Swan Catchment Centre Community Training Officer, Department of Environment.
